I've had two unexpected inquiries as to whether I'd be interested in presenting proposals for icons in two churches. After much preparation, I presented both proposals, knowing that there were no guarantees and thinking that Murphy's Law would probably have the two projects wanting to take place at the same time.
The one proposal was acted upon quickly, and involves a series of 8 icons which will take around 10 months to complete. I then received a call from the other contact wanting to go ahead and confirm one very large icon, right after the other project was completed. So that will be another 4 months of work in the studio. So for the time being, I will have to set the totems painting series aside until the Fall of 2019. I had started on 3 canvases, but I will safely store them until then. One never knows what will come up by then. As I begin this new phase of icons, I also wanted to let you know that my 4 paintings are still in the JD Stevenson Gallery in Chemainus, BC, Tlinghit Wolf 24"x36" Future Generation 18"x36" Raven Eagle Shield 24"x48" Brown Bear 48"x48" You can see them on my For Sale page. You can contact John or Helen at the gallery if you are interested in purchasing one of them, either for your home or office. The gallery's number is (250) 324-1395. The next year will have its challenges, but I've been up to the task before. I will try to keep blog entries for the icons as I progress, to keep you in the loop. I would so enjoy hearing your thoughts and comments.

As the First Nations page grew, with its photos and commentaries, scrolling had become extensive. I've added anchors to the page, connected to a 'Title' List at the top. You can simply click on a title and it will bring your to that particular icon. I hope this make it easier for all of you.
www.andreprevost.com/first-nations-icons.html It was great to be at yesterday's reception, and have another opportunity to speak with some of the other artists represented by the gallery. It was great to see all 5 of my pieces. I added some noise over the other artists' work as I do not have permission to use them. You will note that the gallery has included the background info on the original totems.
Worked through the pain, and the submission of the 2 paintings has been made, with 1 day to spare. What a relief! Now to wait until the 12th to hear whether any have been accepted. Here's hoping.
I have 2 paintings which are nearing completion, and I wanted to flag them to you in case you are interested in possibly acquiring either, before they are submitted to the gallery or Art Show. For more information about the painting(s), pricing and payment options, send your inquiry through the form at the bottom of the 'For Sale' page: https://www.andreprevost.com/paintings-and-icons.html * Please note that you are under no commitment when sending your initial inquiry. Confirmation will only completed once you have the information that you require, and you make arrangement for payment(s). Inquiries and potential sale(s) will be on a first come first serve basis.
"Uncharted waters and unexpected doorways, a journey of faith and trust"
https://stjames.bc.ca/2018/05/blog-uncharted-waters-and-unexpected-doorways-a-journey-in-faith-and-trust I received copies of both the Post Card and Business Card for the upcoming First Nations Of Faith on June 30th at the Strathmore Rodeo Grounds. I was asked for permission to use the image of the the Siksika Sacred Heart icon for the Festival.
The Special Offer has been extended for a few more days as I need to find good homes for these two pieces and make room for more space ASAP. The first is a Giclee paper print of the Ancestor painting, and the other is a mixed media on canvas 'Enduring Faith'.
Note: There are no watermarks on the pieces. |
