Before continuing with the Raven Totem (from the Mongo Martin Family pole at the MOA), I needed to plot out and base coat the 24" x 48" Raven/Eagle Totem from the Bicentennial pole in Sitka National Historocal Park in Sitka Alaska (carved by Duane Pasco in 1976). That was a 9 hour process in itself.

Got the Child/Cub with Human Mother totem painting completed today. Just need to varnish it and then move onto the the other canvas that I had started in early December. I am not where I had hoped to be, as to numbers pf painting for the second exhibition. But I still have 7 - 8 weeks before the Parksville Exhibition.

Been researching another totem for a larger canvas (24" x 48"); the Raven/Eagle totem section from the Bicentennial totem in Sitka National Historic Park, Alaska. Prepared the design for it the other day.

The studio was cleared for Christmas Dinner and post-Christmas Dinner. With the expansion of the studio into the Dining area for a canvas storage unit, the dining set had to go. The solution for Christmas Dinner was a folding table and finding places to put the 2 easels.

It is time to restore the studio and get back to work.

Took advantage of a great sale on canvases yesterday so I'm well stocked with the assorted key canvas sizes that I use, and ready for any totem image that comes to the forefront.

The first solo exhibition is only 4 weeks away. Time does fly by.

Completed the painting of the Beaver Totem tonight. Just need to varnish it and then attempt taking a better photograph of it on a sunny day.

This was the one that I had ordered a special sized canvas for (18" x 48"), as I didn't want to crop the image and lose the top and bottom of the piece. This was an image that I've liked for some time and wanted to attempt it.

Progress is slowly being made on the Beaver totem (18" x 48").

Many layers of building up the thin moss on the aging totem.
