The Artist Appreciation Reception was quite the large affair., starting with an extensive line-up prior to the doors opening at 7:15pm. I wasn't sure what to expect going in as I'd never been part of such a large show before. Up until now, all my exhibitions have been solo. I wasn't sure how my two pieces would blend in (or not). I was pleased that my son Stephen came with me. He was great company in a daunting environment. The first task, other then finding a glass of wine, was to find my 2 paintings. We eventually found the first one (Grizzly Bear Father). I was disappointed to find that the 2 paintings weren't together, to support each other's focus. I saw that it had no red tag, so we moved on to try and find the second (The Raven). It took a number of attempts but we eventually found it. I immediately saw that it had a red tag. I was so relieved; a weight being lifted off my shoulders. My son was thrilled and we clinked our wine glasses in celebration. I am always so grateful when my son is able to share moments like this with me. 'After finding the paintings I went to the Gift Shop to see what was on display there. I saw that 3 of the 5 canvas prints that I had done were on display, along with 1 of the 6 unframed prints. The canvas prints won't be money makers. I may break even after the printing and package costs and commission. But I felt it was a good opportunity to test the prints and to get prints of the series into peoples' homes or offices.
